Lake Babite

Babīte Lake is included in the nature reserve “Babīte Lake”.

The nature reserve “Babīte Lake” is located in the middle of Latvia, Babīte County at distance of ~30 km from Riga and ~4km from the Gulf of Riga.

Total area of this nature reserve is 2988 ha. The Babīte Lake by its area is the seventh greatest lake in Latvia. However it is a low lake and its environment is significant concentration area of birds.

BabīteLakeis popular fishing, birds’ observations and water fowling place.
